The Active Matter and Active Media Summer School is devoted to the latest experimental and theoretical methods for the study and description of active matter and complex media. These include, among others, the collective behaviour of bacterial and artificial colloidal microswimmers. Another example are phase separation phenomena far from thermal equilibrium, for which new concepts for their description still have to be developed and are currently intensively discussed.
